AIXXIA is Robert and Michel. They met in the Special Forces — both veterans of the Korps Commandotroepen, the Dutch equivalent of the Green Berets — and that's still the foundation of how they work: direct, accountable, no shortcuts, and with real trust in each other. Robert went on to build companies across six sectors, manage €750M+ in real estate development, and lead transformation programmes from Croatia to the Schiphol region. Michel went from the ocean floor — literally, as a saturation diver — through offshore engineering to VP level at a major IT consultancy, advising C-suite leaders through acquisitions and digital transformations across Asia-Pacific and Europe. Both of them were deep in AI long before it became a boardroom topic. When they decided to build AIXXIA together, it wasn't a pivot. It was the obvious next step for two people who have always been drawn to the most complex problems in the room.
Neither of them is a developer. Between them: production workflows, agentic skills, voice agents, multi-agent pipelines, self-curating knowledge systems, lead generation platforms, content production systems that learn from corrections, and methodology registers that update themselves via pull request. They know what AI can do, what it can't, where it breaks, and what it takes to make it hold up inside an organisation. That hands-on depth, combined with decades of operating at board level, is what makes AIXXIA different from every other firm in this space.
Robert is a strategist, entrepreneur, and former Special Forces operator. After the military, he built companies from the ground up, led consulting practices internationally, managed complex area developments worth hundreds of millions of euros, and drove transformation programmes across industries ranging from cleantech to software to real estate. He started building hands-on AI expertise in 2022 — not by reading about it, but by building: agents, workflows, multi-agent pipelines, knowledge systems. He was the kind of person who, when he saw what AI could do, immediately thought about the dozen organisational problems it could finally solve. Outside work, he coaches a hockey team, bikes in the mountains when he can, and is rarely happier than when sailing or in the kitchen. He thinks like Naval Ravikant, builds like an engineer, and operates like a commander. His analytical edge and ability to translate complexity into clarity make him a trusted presence in any boardroom conversation.
Michel is a former Special Forces operator and co-founder of AIXXIA. His career started literally at the bottom of the ocean — as a saturation diver and hyperbaric welder in offshore oil and gas in the Far East. From there he moved through engineering and operational management to VP level at CGI, one of the world's largest IT consultancies, where he advised the C-suite of energy and utilities companies on acquisitions, restructurings, and digital transformation across Asia-Pacific and Europe. He has seen technology hyped and technology fail. He's known for a blunt, financially-grounded perspective: AI can do a lot, but only where the return on investment actually justifies it — and knowing the difference is what counts. He's also an active investor and writes about energy transition and capital allocation on his Substack. The combination of deep operational experience, financial discipline, and an allergy to bullshit makes him exactly the kind of partner most organisations have never had access to before.
Robert and Michel don't work alone. Both are former Special Forces — and that shapes exactly how they build their team. They only work with people who take ownership as a given, who see an assignment through to completion, and who understand what real teamwork means. Around them is a carefully assembled network of specialists, brought in per engagement based on what each client actually needs.
A different kind of engagement — closer, more direct, and with more skin in the game.
